It’s a Baby !
On the 29th September 2005, the most wonderful thing happened... little baby “George” was born!
Expected two months previously, George’s long awaited arrival came as a surprise at 6am on a cold winter morning. The following photos were taken when George was only a few hours old...

Most surprised of all was George, who tried suckling from our 4-month old colt Junior, apparently mistaking him for “mummy”! Or was it Junior who was most surprised?!!!

Still insisting that Junior was his mummy, we eventually had to move George into a separate field with his real mummy, Tequila.

George stood with Tequila, enjoying a light snooze!

“If you’re going to be suckling from me for 6 months, you can make yourself useful and be my scratching post!”, says Tequila.

Mum and baby do some bonding... ahhh!

”I’m sticking with my mum... now I’ve figured out which one she is!”

The following photos were taken on the 27th November 2005, when George was almost 2 months old...

“I’m a big boy now”, thinks little George...

“...but I’m still as cute and gorgeous as ever!”
George has now been nicknamed “George of the Jumble”... a play on the name “George of the Jungle”, which also reflects the varied family of horses in his herd.
George is doing very well, despite the recent bad weather. For those interested in following his progress, we’ll update the site with more pictures of him at a later date.
